Kenneth Carney Obituary
A native of Washington County, he was born on March 15, 1925 to the late Powers M. and Dora Farris Carney.
He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the 179th Regiment and station in Italy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart award.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth Bramley Carney on May 7, 2018.
Survivors include four first cousins, Imelda Jones of Perryville, Eugene Mattingly (Suzanne) of Bardstown, Eldon Mattingly (Arlene) of Nicholasville and Janice Hendricks (Jim) of Louisville.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3rd at the New Hope Cemetery in the Mooresville Community of Washington County with Rev. Duray Aldridge, officiating.
Full military honors were conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard at the gravesite.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
