Aarol Emmajean (Jeannie) Stephens

Muncie - Aarol Emmajean (Jeannie) Stephens, 88, passed away at her home late Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Jeannie held many jobs during her life. She was a waitress, a factory worker, and an Avon sales representative to name a few. She also owned and operated The Daleville Truck Stop, and she was an independent truck driver for many years. She also collected ex-husbands and had five or six by 1977.

Jeannie had a strong love of animals. She was a supporter of Animal Defense fund, and North Shore Animal League. She also fed many abandoned animals. In lieu of gifts, donations to Action for Animals will be greatly appreciated.

She was attended by her favorite daughter-in-law Jeanette Stephens and her beloved cats Pinky, Pea-dad, and Orange Cat. She was preceded in death by her daughter Darla Jaye Manis, her sisters, Nancy Mildred Stephens and Jewel David Mason; and her parents, David Stephens and Delphi Stephens.

She is survived by her son, Stan (wife: Jeanette) Stephens; her brother, Robert David Stephens, a granddaughter, Sherri Fawn Harris, and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Harris and Owen Harris; a niece, Anita Ross and a nephew, Steven Day.

Viewing and services will be held at Faulkner Mortuary, 915 E. Willard Street, Muncie on Wednesday, May 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The graveside ceremony will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Following services there will be a gathering of family and friends at Valhalla next to the Heorot Pub. (Please no children at the event.)

Funeral services are entrusted to Faulkner Mortuary.
