Dickie McCammon Obituary
Hartford City - Dickie "Dick" Lee McCammon, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, November 23, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Redkey on July 4, 1935 to Darrel Volney McCammon and Garnet (Wright) Sewell. Both parents preceded him in death.
Dick graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1953.
He married Sandra "Sandy" Sue (Hawkins) on July 14, 1968 at Albany United Methodist Church.
Dick retired in 2000 from GM (Fisher Body) in Marion after 32 ½ years of service. He was a good Christian Man and read his Bible faithfully. He was also a great father and husband and a family man.
He was a member of Blackford Baptist Church and UAW Marion Local #977. He loved watching racing, camping, motorcycles and working.
Dick will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Sandra "Sandy" S. McCammon of Hartford City; children, Mary Kay Janek of Winchester; David Allen McCammon of Denver, CO; Dana L. (husband, Bradley) Whatley of Hartford City; David P. (wife, Susie) McCoun of Hartford City; grandchildren, Kevin Cochran, Robert Cochran, Mikayla McCammon, Brandon Smith, Abigail (husband, Kyle) Workman, Zachary (wife, Peggy) Adams, Joshua McCoun; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Joseph Cochran and Katelynn McCoun, sisters, Carolyn Sue "Suzi" Pittenger and Joynell McCammon.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
