Gary Micheal Johnson, 59, of Anderson died unexpectedly at his residence on January 29, 2019.

Gary was born August 6, 1959 in Watford City, North Dakota, the son of Dale and Clare (Helle) Johnson. He graduated from Watford City High School and North Dakota State University.

Gary served in the United States Army.

He was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church. He loved church, Minnesota Viking football, serve, cook, wood worker, especially making Cedar Chests, enjoyed working. He was self employed as a master craftsman. Gary loved time with his family and kids. He loved driving his candy apple red 51 Chevy that he took to car shows including the James Dean Festival where he was recognized.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, whom he adored, Jeanne (Christman) Johnson of Anderson, whom he married September 5, 1992 in New Castle Park; his brother, Richard (Kathy) Johnson; his sister, Vicki (Dan) Cole all of North Dakota; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Cross Roads United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Muncie with military graveside rites at the cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Cross Roads United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 North Scatterfield Road; Anderson, IN 46012.
