Jacob Lieberman Obituary
PARKLAND, FL - Jacob George Lieberman, infant son of Joel and Jessica (Stanley) Lieberman, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 2, 2017 after battling a genetic, incurable Mitochondrial Disease; Leigh's Syndrome.
He blessed all those he met with his infectious smile and gentle, sweet spirit. His smile penetrated the hearts of strangers, doctors, nurses and therapists in addition to family and friends. During the final days of his short seventeen months, Jake fought a courageous battle, clinging to life with a strength well beyond his years. He is a true inspiration and will forever live in the hearts of many. Although taken too soon, he has been lovingly released into the arms of his Mighty Savior with the utmost assurance of living with Him in heaven for all eternity.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his favorite twin brother, Joel Jr.; and his favorite sisters, Miranda and Melanie; paternal grandmother, Arlene Lieberman (Sunrise, FL); maternal grandparents, George and Alexa Stanley (Muncie, IN); Uncles and Aunts John and Nancy Lieberman (Sunrise, FL), Megan and Cody McWhorter (Indianapolis, IN) and Adrienne Gutbier (Cincinnati, OH); cousins Jonah and Noah Lieberman, Madeline Gutbier and many other relatives and friends who loved Jake so very much.
Services were held Friday, January 6, 2017 at The Gardens of Boca Raton, with Reverend Chris Reny officiating.
The family wishes to thank all the loving caregivers, doctors, nurses and staff at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital (Hollywood, FL), Nicklaus Children's Hospital (Miami) and the UT Mitochondrial Center of Excellence (Houston, TX) for guiding them through this painful journey with grace and compassion. They also wish to thank VITAS Hospice who made Jake's final days so peaceful.

Although I (Alexis) did not get to see Jacob very many times, I will miss his beautiful smile from his pictures.
We know Jacob is with the Lord and now has perfect health. We have been praying and continue to pray that God will comfort the family as only He can.
