Jerry Burchard Obituary
Warren - Jerry Dale Burchard, 87, passed away at 3:46 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.
He was born in Hartford City on January 19, 1934 to Delbert Dale Junior Burchard and Alice Elizabeth (Isenhart) Burchard. Both of his parents preceded him in death.
Jerry graduated from Montpelier High School in 1952. He attended Ball State University. He served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1958 during the Korean War. He married Carol Anita (Wert) on April 2, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Hartford City. Carol passed away on May 6, 2010.
He retired from Box USA/St. Joe Container where he worked in the Maintenance Department. Jerry was an avid reader and well known for his storytelling and writing, he loved to make any story come alive. He enjoyed being an entertainer and he was involved and performed in many plays for the Heartland Theatre and the Civic Theatre in Muncie. He was a former board member of the Heartland Theatre Company. He was a member of E.A.R.S., International Storytelling Association, Storytelling Arts of Indiana and Indiana Storytelling Organization.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his children, Neil R. (wife, Nila K.) Burchard of Crete, IL and Linda L. (husband, Jamie "Blake") Blake of Shingle Springs, CA; grandchildren, Amber Green and Raymond W. Burchard; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Green and Zachary Stevens; sister, Betty J. (husband, Gene) Arnold of Big Rapids, MI; several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Donna J. DeNeef and James N. Burchard.
Jerry will be cremated and a graveside service will be at a later date.
