Robert LeMaster Obituary

Robert Paul LeMaster II

Kearns, Ut - On Thursday, March 26, 2015 we tearfully said goodbye to our beloved husband, father, and grandfather after complications following surgery. He left us too soon.

Robert, "Bob", was born June 27, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska while his father was stationed there during WW II. They returned to their native Indiana where Bob spent the majority of his life, mostly in the Muncie area. He graduated from Muncie Central High school in 1961. He received a degree in Printing Technology & Management from Ferris State. He worked in printing and sales careers until 1989, when he switched careers to become a nurse. He worked in nursing until he retired in 2007.

He met his future wife in 1967 while on a double date, but she was the other fellow's date. After just five months they were married. They raised their children in Yorktown, Indiana and lived in the same home for thirty years. After all three of their adult children moved west to Utah and Colorado, they followed to be near them and their beloved grandchildren. They moved to Kearns, Utah in 2006.

Robert joined the LDS church as a convert in 1968, spending the rest of his life dedicated to his church. He served in various callings, but most recently at the Recommend Desk at the Jordan River Temple, his favorite calling.

Robert was funny, always making jokes and telling stories to anyone he met. He had a passion for travel, history, genealogy, Harry Potter, camping and outdoors, riding four-wheelers and fishing in his boat. More than anything else, he loved trains (real and models) and worked hard to build a garden railroad.

He is survived by the love of his life, Brenda; children, Robin LeMaster, Rhea (Kevin) Schomaker and Robert Paul III (Annie) LeMaster; six granddaughters and one grandson; mother, Margaret; and sister, Julia Deleane Thurman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Valley Ridge Ward building at 5823 S Cougar Ln, Kearns, Utah.

Family and friends may visit an hour before. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Green Cemetery in Magna, Utah.
