October 2, 1943 - September 6, 2025
Columbia, South Carolina - Alfredo Peter Held (Peter), husband of Ruth Margaret Held, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth Held, his loving children, Steven Held (Mary) and Emily Farr (Ellis), and his cherished grandchildren, Will, Carter and Catie Farr. A celebration of life service will be held at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road, Columbia, South Carolina, on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Like so many, I came to know Peter through our business connection. He was a very professional individual who was forthright and expected the same from others. While his directness was occasionally disarming, beneath it he was a very affiable person , one I came to enjoy and appreciate. He and his family became members of the church my family attended and our friendship deepened. To each of his family I extend
my sympathy and condolences. He was a good man and will be missed by many.
