Randy was born on November 27, 1948, the son of the late Mr. Carl and Mrs. Hortense Page Garris. Mr. Garris graduated from the University of South Carolina and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He practiced law and farmed in Dillon County.
Mr. Garris is survived by his children: Kristin G. Garris of Winston-Salem, N.C., Britta Allen Garris of Dillon, S.C., R. Alexander Garris of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Randi Marie Phillips of Lake View, S.C., Elizabeth R. Garris of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Allen R. Garris Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Valerie Bethea of Jacksonville, F.L., Rebecca Garris and Daniel Garris of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Carl J. Garris Jr. of Chapin, S.C., Alice Faye Garris Kulmayer (Joe) of Williamsburg, V.A., Jack R. Garris (Myra) of Dillon, S.C., Hilda Garris Stephens (Robert) of Dillon, S.C., and Steve Garris (Janice) of Lake View, S.C.
Visitation will be at Cook Funeral Home on Friday, May 2, 2008, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lake View at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008. Burial will follow in Bear Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake View, S.C., directed by Cook Funeral Home of Lake View.
