Amy Rogers Adams WINNSBORO - Mrs. Amy Rogers Adams, 88, of Winnsboro, died peacefully at her home on May 17, 2016. Born in Woodruff, SC, June 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George Montgomery Rogers and Augusta "Gussie" Lee Nora Presswood Rogers. She was a graduate of Winthrop College with a B.A. degree in music and, after graduation, taught in Laurens County for several years before marrying and moving to Winnsboro. Amy was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Winnsboro Music Study Club and the Anemone Garden Club. Surviving are her three children, Allene Jeter Sims (Chip) of Greenville, SC, Susan Rogers Jeter of Leesville, SC, and George Jeter of Ridgeway, SC; two grandchildren, Shane McFadden and Amy Sims Holcombe (Jamie) of Greenville, SC, and two great-grandchildren, Camryn and Kendall Holcombe. In addition to her parents, Amy was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Allen Parrott Jeter, and her second husband, Maj. Ret. T. Stokes Adams. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 109 W. College St. in Winnsboro, conducted by Rev. Julie Belman. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall. There will be a private burial at a later date. A special thanks to caregivers, Amy Stevenson, Ruth Jordan, Angela Shepard, Cynthia Watson, Rose Wade, and Clara Goins for all of their care and love.
