Bill Thorvaldson Obituary

Bill R. Thorvaldson MELBOURNE, FL - Bill R. Thorvaldson, 71, passed away peacefully January 27, 2016. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Sverre and Olga Thorvaldson. He lived in Lexington, SC for many years prior to moving to Florida. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend of many, including his companion, Anita Schulze. He is survived by his sons, Mark Wharton, Sverre (Jennifer), and Adam (Kim); grandchildren Tristan, Amelia, Derrick, Kaitlynn, Peyton, Caroline and Miranda; brothers Thor, Rolf and Lee; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothy Coleman. He served in the U.S. Navy and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill was a faithful volunteer at the Greater Palm Bay Senior Center and a member of the VFW Post 4206. A memorial service will be held on February 12th at 1:00pm at VFW Post 4206 in Melbourne, FL.

I will always remember our time together talking and laughing over our memories--sharing different perspectives of the era we grew up in. God bless you, Bill. You'll be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family and to sweet Anita, whose strength and love made all the difference.
