Brian Comalander Obituary

Brian Comalander
November 6, 1968 - April 29, 2022
Chapin, South Carolina - Brian Dale Comalander, 53, passed away peacefully in his home in Chapin, SC, on Friday, April 29, 2022, after a lifetime of battling the odds.
Brian was born on November 6, 1968, in Columbia, SC, to Donald and Helen Comalander. He lived his special life in Chapin, SC bringing joy to all who knew him. In his younger years, Brian participated in Special Olympics and enjoyed camping at Lutheridge. He loved WWE wrestling and football and was an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks. Brian was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, where he participated in Sunday School and Bible Study. In 2022, Mt Horeb Lutheran Men In Mission presented Brian with Mt. Horeb's Man of the Year award, where they noted, "Brian has a heart of gold. He is a friend to everyone. The joy he brings to a room and the kindness he radiates is a gift from God. His faithful devotion to his family, to his church family, and to God is a witness to us all."
Brian is survived by his parents and his two sisters, Katie Morgan (Billy) and Donna Eckert (Eric) along with nephew Will Morgan (Hannah) and nieces Grace Eckert, Rachel Morgan, Lauren Stribling (Blake), Haley Roberts (Harris), Mary Morgan, and Keri Morgan. He is also survived by his great-nephews Gabriel, Elias, and Paxton Morgan. Above all things, Brian is survived by a community that is better off because he was a part of it.
A service celebrating Brian's life will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 12:00 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, Chapin. The service will be preceded by a viewing at 11:15 at the church. The family will receive friends after the service. Please dress casually.
Your love and friendship over the years meant so much to Brian. In lieu of flowers, let the joy you shared with him be a lasting memorial.
