Carla H. Krause

1935 - 2017

Carla Helene Krause was born in Monroe Wisconsin on February 2nd, 1935 and passed away on July 14th, 2017.

Carla passed away peacefully in the home she loved in Redlands with her husband, Richard Krause, by her side.

She was the matriarch of her loving family and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She will be remembered as an avid reader, a world traveler, a gardener, camper, golfer, tennis player and a beach bum.

Carla always had a thirst for knowledge and needed to know the “who, what, where and why” of it all.

She was a member of The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redlands.

She volunteered for her Church as part of the Altar Guild. She also volunteered for the Redlands Heritage Tours by the Historical Society, where she gave tours to school aged children, sharing her love of Redlands. In addition, she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a 40 plus gallon donor for the San Bernardino Blood Bank.

Carla had four children: Kurt, Karl, Vicki and Kathy. She was somehow able to raise 4 children and attend college. She received an English degree from California State University, San Bernardino and a degree in Geology from The University of Redlands. Carla worked as a Speech Therapist for the school system for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, son Karl (Ellie) and daughter Kathy Olivares (Alberto). Grandchildren Carly Krause, Kevin Krause and Margo Gregor (Sean Watson), nieces Jill Whelan, Amy Knight and nephew Jeff Regez and their families.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 25th, at 11:00 am at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redlands on 1207 West Cypress Avenue. Reception to follow at the church’s Fellowship Hall.
