Carrie Elaine Young Watson

October 5, 2024

Columbia, South Carolina - Carrie Elaine Young Watson peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, October 5, 2024. She was born in Saluda, SC on June 22, 1954 to the late Wilbert and Annie Margaret Young. Carrie was married to Henry Watson for 46 joyous years and their union was blessed with three children. Among the first class to integrate the schools in Saluda County, she graduated from Saluda High School in 1973 and the University of South Carolina in 1978. She was employed with AT&T for 25 years. She was also a faithful member of the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Saluda, where she dutifully served as First Lady. Elder Watson, Kendall, Charity & Elizabeth: my sincerest and heartfelt condolences. Dearest Sis. Carrie was that beacon of light wherever she was. I'll miss her charismatic ways, her smile, her words of kindness and encouragement. Whenever I attended the various services, I made a point to seek her out for a hug. It is my prayer that you find comfort in knowing she was a precious soul whom we will miss immensely. We love you- Sis. Renee Douglas and Sis. Delores Douglas of Gainesville Florida
