David Copper

1951 - 2026

David M. "Mike" Copper, 74, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Blue Ash, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He had recently moved to Blue Ash from Colombia, SC to be closer to those he loved the most.

Born on September 19, 1951, in Galion, Ohio, Mike lived a life defined by service, dedication, and devotion to family. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the US Navy as an Electronic Technician. Following his military retirement, he continued his commitment to service with 28 years in Information Technology at the Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Mike had a deep love for music, both listening and playing. He enjoyed collecting signed baseballs, building computers and most of all, spending time with his family sharing good food and laughter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty; his two sons, David and Douglas (Angela); and his three cherished grandchildren, Grant, Adeline, and Quinn. He is also survived by his younger brother Mark (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles, whom his family trusts welcomed him into heaven.

A small gathering with a 3-volley salute will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Research in Mike's memory.

His steady presence and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
