Lincolnton, Georgia - Memorial Services for Mr. David O. Simpson, 83, who entered into rest, January 12, 2023, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Allen Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock.
Mr. Simpson was born in Charleston, WV on June 13, 1939, to the late Loderick Kenna Simpson and Mary Ashely Simpson. He was raised in North Augusta, SC and graduated from North Augusta High School. Mr. Simpson was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and retired from E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Plant with 34 years of service. He was a skilled mechanic and in his younger years, built race cars and would drag race at racetracks all across the southeast. Mr. Simpson would often volunteer his time coaching little league baseball and soccer. He enjoyed the lake and the simple things of life. However, his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends doing the things he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Scott Blackmon. Survivors include his beloved wife, Jeanette K. Simpson; two sons, Chad Simpson (Mariana) and Ken Simpson.
