Debra "Debbie" Helms Hamrick PROSPERITY - Debra "Debbie" Helms Hamrick, 62, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at her residence. Born on February 23, 1953, in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Nellie Ritch Wicker and the late Charles Helms. She previously worked at Thomas & Howard Company and was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church of Matthews, NC. Mrs. Hamrick is survived by her husband, Joe Hamrick; a son, Phil (Karen) Hamrick; a daughter, Chrissy (Brian) Andrews; a brother, Wayne Helms; a step-sister, Karen Hines Copes; half-brother, Michael Helms; step-mother, Ruth Helms; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 9:00 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
