Onancock, Virginia - Mrs. Doris Carolyn Mobley Roof Knight, 90, died Thursday, October 14. 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Horne officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the social hall of the church immediately following the committal. Mrs. Knight was born April 3, 1931 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Edward Dixon Mobley and Jeannette Knox Mobley. She was a graduate of the schools of Fairfield County and was retired from Springs Industries Eureka plant and former owner operator of Hobby Haven. Mrs. Knight was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crafts and gardening and was a great seamstress. She was also a volunteer for the Chester Ministerial Food Pantry at Purity Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Warren of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, four great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews and many honorary children. She was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Knight; son James C "Bojack" Roof; daughter, Wanda Dickey; brother Edward O'Neal Mobley; sister, Betty Marie Hinson and granddaughter, Phyllis Roof.
