A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, in Bowers Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.
Mrs. Lightsey was born September 23, 1924, in Mapleview, New York, and was a daughter of the late Ambie Tubbs and Augusta Celia Drake Tubbs. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ridgeland and retired from Hampton Motor Sales. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Surviving are: her children, Elizabeth DeLoache (Rav), Thomas Miner (Gilda), William Miner (Wanda) and Roberta Peet; brother, Arnold Tubbs (Mary), foster sister, Stephanie Martin (David); foster brothers, John Sabrey (Elaine) and Thomas Sabrey; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Gerald Lightsey Sr. (Irene), Betty Jane Jeffcoat (Skeeter), Herman Burns Lightsey Jr. (Mary) and Cleveland Ridgeway; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Rae.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one""'s choice.

Wow! What do we say. Tommy did not have to wait long for Dot, so I know they are happy. However for us, we are sadden for the loss of Dot. May God confort us all in this time.
