My ex wife Carroll and I were fortunate to number Tootsie and Bruce among our friends during the decade we lived in Columbia, SC. It is a true lost to now learn that now both of them are no longer with us. I remember many visits in their home. Perhaps the last included cracking a cocoanut for her mother, Miss Davis. She backed the best cocoanut cake. They are all missed.

Tootsie was my second cousin. I had not talked to her in a long time, but we had some fun times back in the day. So sorry I didn´t known of her passing.

Tootsie was such a joy to know, always bringing sunshine into a room with her smile. She was a warrior for women's justice.
Rest in peace and justice, Tootsie.
