Born March 4, 1928 in Blaney, SC Faye met the love of her life, Henry 'Buck' Hook, Jr. in June 1946 and married him a mere four months later. Though the courtship was swift, the marriage was one that lasted 64 years and was a love story that lasted a life time. When you saw one you were sure to see the other.
Faye attended the Logan School and Taylor Evangelical Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by eight siblings. She retired from both Mt. Vernon Mills and Capital City Sewing. She was an ever devoted mother and grandmother. Other than her beloved Buck, she leaves behind three sons, Mike (Terry), Larry (Stacey), and Barry, six grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, a number of very special nieces, nephews, and her faithful dog, Abby.
Faye was a fabulous cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She was a great cake decorator that produced numerous wedding and birthday cakes. Gardening was one of her passions with red roses being her favorite. She had a fabulous sense of humor and loved to tell a good joke but could rarely finish it because of her contagious giggling!
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Taylor Evangelical Methodist Church, Richland St. Columbia, SC at 11:00 a.m. with the burial following at Southland Memorial Gardens. Uncle Buck and family,
I pray that you will feel the warmth of God as he holds you in his arms at this difficult time in your life. I know that Aunt Faye has been greeted by those who love her in Heaven. I believe upon her arrival they greeted her and said "We have been waiting for you." I know that Mama and Daddy were there, welcoming her to Heaven. And Aunt Faye will be there to welcom us one day!
Much love,
Cyndi

I have such fond memories of Faye and Buckas I was growing up and the wonderful love story they shared. You could see the sparks of love still alive in their eyes when they were together. May God's straong arms enfold you and uphold you through the hard days ahead. We love you all, Vernon and Kathy Seibert

Miss Faye you will always be in my memories, you were a wonderful person and a great neighbor. I still have alot of the flowers and trees that you have given me over the years and now when I see them they will bring a extra smile because you told me once never to thank you for them, I am thanking you now because I know they will be sweeter now. We will MISS YOU! My prayers goes out to the family, because we all know we have lost a jewel!
