Glenn Bentley

MT. STERLING - Glenn Edward Bentley, age 75, passed away at his home on June 18, 2014. He was born in Cromona, KY, on May 12, 1939 to Edward and Lady Grey Bentley. He moved to Mt. Sterling in 1960, where he started Glenn Bentley Body Shop in 1962 and retired from his business at the end of 2010 after 49 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Tammy Bentley; sons, Bruce Edward (Veva) Bentley, David (Robin) Huff and Michael Huff Bentley, all of Mt. Sterling, KY; daughter Blair Vance of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Brittany (Collin) Caskey of Louisville, KY and Kayla Bentley of Mt. Sterling, KY; and great-grandchildren, Mikah Arnold, Tyler Bentley, Hudson Caskey and Peyton Shepherd. In addition to his children, he is survived by his sisters, Vivian Spangler of Jackhorn, KY; Lois (Bob) Altman of Louisville, KY, and Doris Potter of Greenville, IN. Recognized as a Kentucky Colonel and KHSAA High School referee, he was a well-known and respected businessman and friend to those in the Mt. Sterling community. He was a member of Hope First Church of God where he enjoyed attending with his church family. There was no greater hobby to him than working in his yard and watching NASCAR, where he even had the chance to drive a few laps at the Kentucky Speedway. He was a devoted and loving family man and enjoyed his early morning breakfasts with friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lady Bentley; his late wife, Virginia E. Bentley and sister, Bobbie Bentley. Visitation will be Friday, June 20, from 6-9pm and funeral services will be on Saturday, June 21, at 9:30am at the Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling, KY.
