Hosea Davis Sr. was born December 7, 1948 to the late Arlie
and Novella Davis. He departed this life suddenly on June 12,
2017. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public
School system. In 1967 he joined the Army and served his
country well. After his Army service, he joined and served in
the National Guard. Hosea worked at the Coast Guard Yard,
was a field coordinator for Baltimore City Youth works and
then worked as a Correctional Officer at Clifton T. Perkins
until his retirement.
Hosea was a Lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW,
as well as a member of the Buffalo Soldiers. He loved to help
serve the Vets at the V A Hospital where he was a volunteer. He
was always trying to help someone else. To know him was to
love him.
Hosea joined Davis Memorial under the leadership of Rev.
Patrick Hipkins in 1990. He served on the Trustee Board until
his health failed him.
The joy of his life was his grandkids, he loved them
unconditionally.
His father Arlie Davis, mother Novella Davis, and brother
Lavern Davis all preceded him in death.
He leaves to honor his memory his wife Marie, daughter
Montrae, son Hosea Jr. (Dominique), stepson Daryl, two sisters
Ollie Mae Shannon, Rita Crosby, two brothers, Shaakir
Anyabwile, Ricky McNeely, two Aunts Elizabeth Kearns of
North Carolina, Virginia Mack of Baltimore, one uncle Ben
Davis of North Carolina, eleven grandchildren Monet, Diarra,
Asia, Daquan, Darrell, Dallas, Ashley, Ashland, Kania, Kamrin
and Kamron, two great grands Isaiah and Montrell, a host of
nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Hosea was a great friend to me and my mother he always tried to offer any and all help doen to the clothes off his back...im blessed to say he was my friend and ill always have love for him..i had moved from Madison avenue but i felt in my heart he was gone and i just typed his name on google and i was sad to find his obituary...RIP hosea
