Iran Cummings

1950 - 2025

Iran Santis Cummings, 74, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Harold and Kay Frances Cummings. A proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Iran also pursued higher education by attending Fisk University, later graduating from The University of Akron (BS), Oakland University (AS in Robotics), and The University of Detroit Mercy (MBA in Labor Relations), shaping a love of learning that lasted throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife Annette, his daughter Tahlia L. Cummings, children by marriage Michael O. (Renetta) Jones and Angela (Timonthy) Hardge, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four siblings, and many loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: Friday, November 14, 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, South Carolina.

Funeral: Saturday, November 15, 10:00 a.m. at Sandhills Community Church.
