WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for James C. Etheridge, Sr., 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Etheridge was born in Macon, GA, June 3, 1936, and passed away January 26, 2009. He was the son of the late Linnie C. Etheridge and Sara Horne Etheridge.

James, affectionately known as “Catfish,” was a phenomenal piano player and entertainer who shared his own brand of humor on and off the stage.

Mr. Etheridge is survived by his wife, Linda Etheridge of West Columbia, SC; children, James C. (Melinda) Etheridge, Jr. of Lexington, SC, Leon (Sherrie) Etheridge of Macon, GA, Lynette (Bill) Smith of Macon, GA, Loretta (Tommy) Faulk of Macon, GA; ten grandchildren, Jake, Logan, Alishia, Bubba, Jared, William, Dawn, Daniel, Tiffanie, Learell, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

My Grandaddy was by far the best piano player in the world to me. He always had the most outgoing personality. He was truly the most caring and loving man. I will miss him dearly. I love you!!
