James McLeod Obituary
With a compassionate heart and "gifted hands," he has comforted thousands of grieving families over the years, after returning home to take over the family funeral business when his grandfather, the late Joseph H. W. "Joe" Morris, became ill. Under his leadership, the legacy that began in 1914 when Morris Funeral Home was established, continues to touch countless lives in and beyond Marlboro County.
A true family man and pillar in the community, Jimmy McLeod will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. Left to cherish his memory and celebrate his life are his children: Tracey C. McLeod Williams (Myron) of Bennettsville, Mia M. Butler Garrick (Tracy) of Columbia, Erica M. Davis (Gerome) of Columbus, GA and James S. McLeod, Jr. (Shante) of Columbia; Parents: Leah Morris & James Harold Worrell of Hampton, VA; Sister: Terry F. Worrell of Richmond, VA; Brothers: Gary Worrell (Cheryl) of Columbia and James P. Washington (Dolores) of Miami, FL; grandchildren: Brian "BJ" Butler & Cameron Butler of Columbia; Zyon Hodge, Nia Hodge & Myles Davis of Columbus, GA; Kaylah McLeod & James S. McLeod, III of Columbia, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 1, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bennettsville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, at The Berea Convention Center, Hwy 38, in Bennettsville.
Morris Funeral Home (843.479.9068) is in charge of these arrangements.
