I met Jim while we were on the Kimbrell's Board of Directors several years ago, but never knew him well in that role. We finally got together to talk while he and i were both at the beach one summer. It was a great experience for me to sit down with him and get to know one another. To share stories of his time at Kimbrell's and mine and to learn more about my grandfather who passed when i was quite young. To find out we had so much in common. Since that day i considered Jim as a kind of distant mentor, and have always cherished the times that I did have with him. He was a true southern gentleman and exuded a positive energy and humanness we could use much more of in this day and age. You couldn't help but like this guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Jim was the ultimate southern gentleman and a friend to everyone who knew him. He was such a mentor to me as a young businesswoman and made sure I got involved in things that mattered to the community - Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, and others. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the many friends who will miss him...
