Jeffrey L. Shupe Born August, 1958. Hometown of Bristol, TN COLUMBIA - Jeff Shupe left us unexpectedly on February 12, 2014. He leaves behind his soul mate, best friend and wife, Diane Perdue-Shupe and step daughter, Lori Carrier of Brooklyn, New York. Other surviving relatives are parents Virginia and Gene Shupe, Bristol, Tennessee; brother Langley and his wife, Donna, their two children Laura and Abbey, all of Blountville, Tennessee; sister in law, Tanya Perdue Robinson of Cape Canaveral Florida and mother-in-law Yvette Perdue of Bristol, Tennessee. Jeff was a gentle and kind soul, who never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need, whether a stranger or not. Jeff studied electrical engineering at the University of Tennessee before beginning a long and loyal career with Harland Check Printers. His natural talent with computers and his abilities in math and engineering led him to many opportunities and many, many friends. Jeff was currently self-employed with Fibrenew of the Midlands. Jeff had so many passions and hobbies; he was never one to be bored. He loved mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, inventing and building anything and following Tennessee Volunteer football and Lady Vol Basketball! However his first passion was always computers, no matter what his current interests were. He could always be found fitting in some programming to accomplish some task - such as an application to assist in color matching or another he developed to assist with lottery picks. He tremendously enjoyed sharing his knowledge plus learning from others. There was no challenge Jeff wouldn't undertake fearlessly and optimistically. A memorial service honoring Jeff will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 7 pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1400 Southside Ave, Bristol, TN 37620. The family will begin receiving friends at 6:30pm.
