Jim Tom "J.T." Morris
J.T. Morris WEST COLUMBIA - Jim Tom Morris passed away July 28, 2014, at his home in West Columbia, SC. Mr. Morris was born September 6, 1925, in Chambers County, AL. He was a WWII veteran and a proud graduate of Auburn University. Following his retirement from a successful career as a biology teacher in Maryland, he returned to his hometown in Alabama for a number of years before relocating to Columbia. Ever the biology teacher, he donated his body to the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine. He was predeceased by his parents, William Lofton Morris and Nellie Beatrice Wadkins of Langdale, AL, brothers, Clarence Howard Morris and William Hugh Morris, and sisters, Helen Aileen Morris and Dorothy Morris Smallwood. Mr. Morris is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy White Morris of West Columbia, sons, James T. Morris (Maureen) of Columbia, and Jacquith H. Morris (Barbara) of Madison, WI, granddaughters, Erin Maedora Morris of Costa Rica, and Lily Elizabeth Freier (Harris) of New Jersey, and great-grandson, Marshall Freier.

We are sorry about the death of Mr. Morris. We thank him for his service to our country, fighting to rid our world of tyranny, cruelty and injustice. We owe so much to "The Greatest Generation'. We hope and pray that family and loved ones wll find strength and comfort in your faith and your memories.
