Julius Bowman Obituary
Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service.
Mr. Bowman went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2009. Born in Lexington County, he was the son of the late Ellie B. and Katie Davis Bowman Lorick. He was a graduate of South Carolina State College where he majored in Agriculture and became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Sergeant Major Bowman retired from the United States Army after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Pleasant Spring AME Church where he served as a Trustee, Steward, a member of the Men’s Choir, the Lay Organization and the Sons of Allen. He was also a 33rd Degree Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Lorick Bowman; brother, Willie Bowman; nephew, Allen (Naomi) White; god-children, Adrian (AL) Everett, Gloria (Greg) Bullock, Taniqua, Diamond, Kevin, Jr., David, Aaliyah and Anette Murray; all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Bowman.
The two of you were such a special and loving couple. It was always a pleasure to see the both of you and to witness the love,care and admiration that was evident between you. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficul time. I pray that the peace of the Lord will be with you .

I have always thought that Mr. Bowman was among one of the most awesome Christian men I've ever met. He will be sorely missed. My heart and prayers go out to Mrs. Bowman.
