Maggie Boykin Obituary

Maggie Lou McMichael Boykin COLUMBIA - Funeral Mass for Mrs. Maggie Lou McMichael Boykin will be held Monday 12 noon at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church with burial to follow in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held this evening beginning at 6 p.m. at the Leevy's Funeral Home, Taylor Street Chapel. Mrs. Boykin died peacefully on August 8, 2012. For many years, she utilized her culinary skills at the Palmetto and Summit Clubs in Columbia. After retiring, she again pursued a career, specializing in the management of her own day care nursery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Boykin. Mrs. Boykin leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Charles (Belinda) and Willie Boykin; daughters, Mary (Lathel) Scales, Letsie Elizabeth (Edwin III) Bloom, Gloria Jean (Ronald) Bell, Myrna Boykin, and Elsa (John) Jackson; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and two sisters-in-law. www.leevy.com

Our mother was a blessing. Life is a beautiful tapestry made warm and comfortable by time and love...a patchwork of stories filled with laughter, smiles, and the wonderful memories we keep forever in our hearts.
