West Columbia, South Carolina - Martha Owens Rawls Hallbick, 85, died Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Lexington Extended Care.
Born on August 30, 1936, in Blair, to the late Jasper Newton Owens and Mary Drew Owens Dickey. Mrs. Hallbick was a retired administrative assistant with the Mungo Corporation. She was a member of Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hallbick is survived by a son, Don (Cricket) Rawls of Lexington; step-sons, Kenny Nissen and Kevin Nissen both of Florida; a sister, Pinkey Dickey Peake of Blythewood; a brother, John Owens of Greenville and a granddaughter, Christine Rawls (Geoff) Coleman of Charleston. She was predeceased by a step-son, Stephen Nissen and sisters, Florence Goff and Janie Dickey Richardson. She was predeceased by husbands, Jacob Donald Rawls and Donald Hallbick.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jana Creighton. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at the Graham Cemetery in Pomaria. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3525 Piedmont Road, NE, Bldg. 5, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30305 or to Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church, 530 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210.

Martha and I worked very closely for 25 years. I couldn´t have asked for a more loyal, caring, and exceptionally competent co-worker as well as a great friend. She will be missed by all of us.

We loved Martha dearly and will miss her. Her puppy was the only dog we knew with a personal bedroom and a window to watch the world go by. To her family we are very sad for your loss.
