I'm so saddened to hear about Mary. She was a wonderful lady and always greeted everyone (especially the dogs) with a big smile and friendly words. I know she's up there sharing her love with all the animals that have crossed over the bridge. My heartfelt condolences to Jefferson and the rest of her family and friends.

I was so sorry to hear about Mary. I knew her from the neighborhood and the dog park. I can still see her sitting in the grass and calling my dog's name with such happiness. She will truly be missed.

So sorry to hear about this. I remember that wonderful house on Lakeshore Drive when we were growing up in Columbia. I reconnected with Mary quite a few years ago but had not seen her in an age. She was a wonderful person.

Mary was a wonderful woman. He generousity of spirit and love were over abundant. She was my dearest friend for the past 30 years.
She had such style and grace.
Occasionally I get to pass Port Liberte, a complex she designed in New Jersey, and I marvel at her talent as an architect.
Mary, build your castles in heaven. Love you madly...and forever.

Mary was one of those oh, too rare people whose name one doesn't forget. I can still remember the evening I met her.. at California Dreaming restaurant. I was immediately intrigued by her air of bohemianism and her wide-ranging ideas. It was only later that I came to appreciate her generosity and warmth. The world is a poorer place without her. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I only knew her in grade school and remember her love for animals and her artistic abilities. Had hoped to catch up with her at a reunion a couple of years ago but that didn't work out. I wish I had known you were in Charleston since 1999, but unfortunately didn't find out until tonight. How easy it would have been to see you if I had only known, as I am in Charleston often. Bless you for your work with animals.

Mary was such a wonderful, talented person. I loved spending time with her at the beautiful home on Lakeshore Drive when we were young. What a great friend she was to so many! We shared our love of animals. She made such a positive difference in my life and she will truly be missed. My heart goes out to her family.

I will always remember Mary when I look out on the dog park where so many times, Rosie and I would join her. Seems that Rosie always knew when she and Jefferson were in the park. Mary was a bright spot in our lives and truly a dog whisperer. My sympathy to her family and Jefferson. May she rest in peace near Rainbow Bridge. Kate Dolan

This is very sad for me. I thought a good many times about how I hoped (and expected) that we'd reconnect at some point, but no luck with the earthly meeting. And, with 2 sons in Charleston since 2005, and me there as recently as 8/12, I could have found you so easily, if only I'd had sense enough to remember you lived there. Love, Rick

Becky & Marion,
Pudge Clarke called me this morning and told me about Mary's passing. I am so very sorry.
Mary was such a cute kid and did such a beautiful job on Rose Hill Presbyterian Church. What a great legacy.

Dear sweet Mary, I know you are relaxing now with our little angel, Buddy. He is bursting with adoration and you're cooing to him and handing him treats. I miss you both so much. Thank you for the fun visit in July. My new little one, AElfie, is so glad to have met you and Gandalf was glad to play with Jeffie again. PS - Gandalf promises not to steal any of Jeffie's bones (when Jeffie's looking, that is!). Love, Elizabeth
