A true lady of dignity. Even when she was silent her presence spoke volumes and when she did choose to speak it would be pleasantly profound. God blessed us to be in the company of this great lady. She lives in our hearts as a representation of the peace and joy of Christ.

I knew Mrs. Ross for a few wonderful years. I enjoyed every experience with her. She would talk and sing so beautifully. I could feel the love even though our time together was not long. What mattered most was that our time together was sweet.
Remember her kindness, love and joy. Those things will give you love and joy with every breath you take.

My deepest sympathy and love go out to our adopted family, the Rosses. When I count my blessings, I count knowing Mrs. Ross twice. I often thought of her as my second mother. I have a lifetime of beautiful and happy memories visiting the Ross household which was always welcoming and full of hospitality. I am very grateful for all of the love and support that I received from Mrs. Ross As a young child and throughout my adulthood. Truly Mrs. Ross was an amazing, beautiful and talented lady who modeled the virtues of being a wonderful wife and mother. I pray that shared memories and so many happy times provide my dear Ross family peace and comfort at this time. May God continue to bless and strengthen you.

My heartfelt condolences go to the Ross family. My family are not blood related to the Rosses, but we were family. My mom was a very good friend of Mr. and Mrs. Ross my entire life. We shared so many times together. I pariculaularly remember our two families attending the annual Allen University Christmas concert. I loved the choir so much. Mrs. Ross made me appreciate great music! I still remember the college singers singing so many high arias and Negro spirituals. Both Mrs. Ross and my mother would take us to the "colored" fair.Although, hard times ,both of them wanted their children to have just some fun so the Brown and Ross children headed to Columbia!.
Our trips to NYC, Charlotte, DC to Mrs. Ross sister Martha Daisy, Aunt Sugar Plum, in Middle Six. ...Just wonderful memories. May she rest in peace and be with Manse and her good friend Annye Ruth. They are probably reminiscing their shopping trips to Tapps ,Allens and Berry's on Main. Mrs. Ross, I will miss hearing that Leontyn Price voice. Your voice will forever be in my ear. Job well done. You were a great servant to Our Savior Lord Jesus Christ. Your teaching and guidance too so many students in Fairfield County is so noted and documented. We will miss you but thank you for all the lives you touched in our beloved Fairfield County, affectionately called the Boro. Good bye, my friend. Love, Deanie Brown Brewer, a daughter from another mother. So sorry I cannot be there for my family. Love all of my Ross family, Deanie Brown Brewer

Aunt Maude left a legacy of service to others with grace, poise and tenacity. She didn't just speak about what should be done but moved to get it done. Her works will forever speak for her. I will miss her advice, wisdom and love of family, and be forever encouraged by her drive to see every young person she came in contact with educated and empowered.
