Prosperity , South Carolina - Nancy Foy Bedenbaugh, 72, of Prosperity, died Monday, June 20, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Born on June 22, 1949 in Newberry, SC she was the daughter of the late James William "J.W." and Helen Rae Koon Foy.
On June 20, 1970 at the Morris Skating Rink on Lake Murray, she met the love of her life, Lewis R. Bedenbaugh, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 28, 2022.
Nancy worked in the Newberry County School System, teaching Kindergarten and Special Education, for more than 30 years. Upon retirement, she continued in her passion for education and youth, teaching Preschool for six years at Grace Lutheran Church, where she is a member.
She loved her work and she also loved the simple joys of the world around her. Nancy especially loved spending time at Edisto Beach, listening to the birds chirping from the back deck of her home, and caring for her dogs. Above all, she loved her family.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Lewis R. Bedenbaugh; her daughter, Tyla Bedenbaugh Bowers (Craig); grandchildren, Laban James Bowers and Dorian Brooks Bowers; nieces and nephews; and her "children with fur," Mr. Bennie and Cocoa.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James Robin Foy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Jane Mitcham. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 PM, prior to the service, in the Ministry Center at Grace Lutheran Church.
