Nancy Sample Obituary
Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Sample died July 20, 2008. Born in Fairfield County, she was the daughter of the late Georgia Etta Durham Norris.
Mrs. Sample was a retired educator, having taught in Richland One School District for more than thirty years. A loving and devoted teacher, Nancy instilled in her children and her students a strong work ethic. She truly believed that “No child should be left behind,” long before the phrase became popular.
Mrs. Sample was a longtime member of First Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Taylor.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Deirdre (Curtis) Murph, Trina Taylor, Elizabeth (Craig) Hall, Angela Taylor and Sehfeya Sample; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her former husband and loving companion, David Taylor; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Mrs. Sample was my elementary school teacher at Atlas Road and Meadowfield. She truly had a heart and a spirit of gold. Sehfeya please accept my sincerest sympathy. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Ms.Sample was my fifth grade teacher at Meadowfield Elementary School and she was the best teacher there was. I just found out about her death today and i really, really, wanted to tell you guys how much we are sorry for your lost I really know how you all feel beacause I lost my dad in April. Once again Ms. Sample Was a wonderful teacher, friend and leader.
