Patricia Banks Obituary

Patricia Anne Banks
October 6, 1947 - December 23, 2022
Summerville, South Carolina - Patricia Anne Banks, 75, of Summerville, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Patricia "Patti" Anne Reed Landreneau Banks was born in Mamou, Louisiana, on October 6, 1947, to Revon John Reed and Pauline Watts Reed. As a young woman she enjoyed all types of dancing and did so until her first marriage to Louis J. Landreneau when she began to dance with the first 3 of her 7 children, dancing in the car and devoting herself to their numerous activities including baseball and soccer games, cross country races, numerous school events, graduations, weddings, and birthdays of her children and grandchildren. She was loved by many for being witty, adventurous, and having an Irish grit and tenacity with a sense of humor that always saw joy in life no matter how difficult. Many remember her for her cats, her travels around the world including the rock city of Petra in Jordan, her deep love of reading, and her kindness to everyone she welcomed into her home like they were her own children.
Later in life Patti continued her dance at the assisted living center Life Care as she took care of her residents with love and compassion. We were all blessed to be a part of Patti's dances in life. She now dances with the LORD and all those who arrived earlier than her at God's heavenly dance hall: "laissez le bon temps rouler!"
Patti is survived by her brothers Revon "Chippy" Reed, Kevin Reed, and Seth Reed; sisters Retta Reed, Karen Reed, and Holly Reed Young all of Mamou, Louisiana. Additionally, Patti is survived by her daughters, Anne Marie Percy (husband Bob), and Julie Irene Landreneau, both of Charleston, South Carolina; son, Louis Joseph "Joe" Landreneau, of Irmo, SC, from her first marriage; also, daughters Paula Bernice Iannucilli (husband Chris), Mary Beth Debus (husband Jim), and son, James Arthur Banks III, from her second marriage. She is blessed with 15 grandchildren (6 girls and 9 boys) and 1 great granddaughter born this past March 3rd, Auden Cornelia Speer.
Patti is predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Amy Lynn Banks, and her brother Colin Paul Reed.
Patti's funeral Mass was held on Monday, December 26, 2022.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation in her honor. Personal condolences may be sent to the family at www.parksfuneralhome.com

Patty was an unpretentious kind hard worker and our Lady. She had and raised her children with undemanding love. Her love was visible Joey and Anne, and Julie and Paulette And Mary Beth and Jimmy and the late Amy Banks. All who were privileged to be in the midst of the family were left with her kind acceptance and loyalty. She was a Louisiana jewel and my friend.
