Paul Gunter Obituary

Paul H. Gunter BATESBURG Mr. Paul Hartwell Gunter, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, February 5, 2016. Mr. Paul was the husband of the late Peggy Joyce Carver Gunter, father of Michael Gunter (and his wife Patricia) of Leander, TX, and Rhonda Parnell (and her husband Harmon Parnell, II) of Hartsville. He was the grandfather of Candice Wall, Lace Wall, Katherine Marr and Paul Gunter; and great-grandfather of Payton, K.J., Ashton Wall and Abigail Marloh. Mr. Paul was the brother of the late James Gunter and David Gunter, and he was the son-in-law of Laura Marie Carver, and brother-in-law of Phyllis (Robert) Busbee. He was a son of the late William Edward and Almetta Rebeccah Salter Gunter. Mr. Paul was a good friend of Parrilee Fogle. Mr. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War period. He was a diesel mechanic with Overnite Trucking for 26 years. He was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in New Holland Baptist Church Cemetery with a military honors presentation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be made to the Gunter family online at www.blizzardfuneralhome.com.

We are so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was a good man. He always sent Christmas cards and even attended our high school graduation with our dad. He will be missed. Aimee, Amanda, and Donna Gunter
