Richard Shumpert Obituary
Mr. Shumpert was born in Columbia, SC, February 16, 1961, and passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009. He was a son of R.J. Shumpert and Lois Shoemake Shumpert of Gaston. Mr. Shumpert was a member of Pine Ridge Church of God. He was owner of Shumpert and Sons Well Drilling. Mr. Shumpert was a member of APA, FLW Outdoors and BASS.
Mr. Shumpert is survived by his parents; wife, Susan W. Shumpert of Lexington; son, Rick Shumpert of Lexington, maternal grandmother, Annie S. Gunter of West Columbia; sister, Renee West (Tom) of Gaston; brother, Randy (Jan) Shumpert of Neeses; 8 nephews and 1 niece.

Ricky put in our well last year and we got to know him when he came to the house for additional service calls. We were impressed with his call back time and the fact he always took the time to explain what needed done. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.

Ricky was a great fisherman. I fished the south carolina bfl with him. He always was around at the end. He will be missed alot. Thanks for the memories man. You made me ,and others better fishermen.
