June 25, 1934 - October 28, 2022
Columbia, South Carolina - Public viewing will be held at Palmer Memorial Chapel on Sunday November 6 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Service will be held Monday November 7 at 10:45 am to 12:00 pm at Zion Benevolent Baptist Church interment to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Surviving are: his devoted wife of sixty-one years, Palmira; Son, Jose (Paulette) Nieves, Sr.; Daughters, Wanda (James Lowman) Randolph and Marguerite Randolph. Four grandchildren: Jose (Mickelle) Nieves, Jr., LaToya Nieves, his namesake Robert (Brenda) Randolph-Cooper, Sr., Ryan (Andrea) Jones. Fourteen great grandchildren: his brother, Thomas Randolph; sister: Mamie (Otis) Eleazer; brothers-in-law: Carlos (Donna Gomez) Olivencia, Sr, Salomon Ortiz, Jr. and Saturno Soto; sisters-in-law; Isabel Garcia, Carmen Ortiz, Edith (Santos) Gonzalez; his former daughter in laws, whom he had and maintained a heartfelt relationship with, Felicia Jones and Angela Alexander and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
