Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22nd at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Kristen Richardson-Frick and Rev. George E. Strait officiating.
Mr. Wactor was born in Elloree, a son of the late John William Wactor and Evelyn Ulmer Wactor. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School where he excelled in sports and was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. He attended Clemson College and Presbyterian College. Mr. Wactor was retired from Orangeburg Gin where he served as President. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Mr. Wactor was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Clinton Wactor.
Survivors: wife of 51 years: Reba Pittman Wactor of the home; 3 sons: Robert S. Wactor, Jr., and wife Dyna, Orangeburg, Charles Clinton “Clint” Wactor and wife Melanie, Columbia, John William Wactor, II and wife Scarlett, Summerville; 6 Grandchildren: Johnny, Lance and Grant Wactor, all of Summerville, Madison Wactor and Bradley Wactor, Columbia, Hector Chaparro of Orangeburg; sister: Harriet Reid Strait and husband Rev. George, Greer.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1356 Amelia St., Orangeburg, SC 29115 or to the Epworth Childrens Home, 2900 Millwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29205.
