Roger Calhoun Obituary
April 5, 1943 - July 28, 2022
Columbia, South Carolina - Roger A. Calhoun, 79, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday August 4, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, 2936 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205 with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers are John Wise, Ed Kennedy, Ted Price, Jim Smith, Jim Hartman, and Al Thornton.
Roger was born April 5, 1943 in Panama City, Florida to Julius and Mildred Calhoun. He graduated Dreher High School in 1961 and served in the U.S. Army. Roger will be remembered for his love of people and the ability to always make new friends. His personality helped him create a successful career with 40 years of service at Love Chevrolet. Roger was an active member of Shandon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sisters, Judy Bevel, Peggie Calhoun, and a brother-in-law, Fred Brown.
Survivors include his sister, Kaye Brown, his fur baby, Abby and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
