Steve Smith WEST COLUMBIA - A service to celebrate the life of Steve Smith, 63, of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Brookland United Methodist Church, 514 Meeting Street, West Columbia, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the 125-year anniversary of Brookland United Methodist Church. Steve passed away Thursday April 6, 2017. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and was the son of the late Douglas R. Smith, Sr. and Minnie Clara Boyette Smith. Steve was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed grilling and playing the guitar and loved Hank Williams, Sr. and the Beatles music. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Senn Smith; sons, Paul (Devon) Smith and Andy Smith; grandchildren, Campbell and Cooper Smith; brother, Randy Smith; sister-in-law, Linda Smith; aunt, Mary Williams, Jackie (Buck) Warren, Brenda Boyette and Frances (Gene) Lassiter; nieces, Elisha Clark, Rebecca Smith and Clara Ann Smith; two great nieces and one great nephew; and his four-legged companions, Denver, Jack and Blonde. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Rudy and Allen Smith.
