I am so very sorry to learn of this great loss for Dr. Tinkler's family and for the Greenwood Community. I'll always remember Dr. Tinkler's contributions to our yearly Career Day Fairs at Merrywood Elementary School. Year after year while Robert was a student, Dr. Tinkler would captivate the students with his presentations. I never new of his background in education until reading this write-up; now it's obvious why he was so comfortable telling students about his career! My love and sympathy to the family, Donna Thompson (Retired, School Counselor)

Angela, Robert, and Mary: I am saddened to learn of Stuart's untimely death, and I send you my deepest condolences. Although I did know Stuart very well, it was always a pleasure to chat with him, and I was interested to learn about his early life and career. Quite a person! If there is anything I can do on your behalf up here, on the mountain, please let me know.

So sad about Stuart, thinking of all of his family during this. He brought out the best in us at Davidson Beaufort Marine Lab fall semester, and we were all amazed at how he came back from summer break a botanist.
