Sybil Dudley Obituary

Sybil Gainey Dudley HARTSVILLE - Sybil Gainey Dudley went peacefully to be with The Lord on Thursday, January 31st, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Dudley was the widow of Marcus K. Dudley and a lifetime resident of Hartsville. Born 21 April 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bizand Gainey and Myrtle Waddell Gainey Kelley. She was for many years a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church, and more recently of First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kem and Meredith Dudley of Hartsville, Eric and Belinda Dudley of Tallahassee, Florida, Jamie and Beth Dudley of Hartsville; her grandchildren, Katharine, Christopher, Margaret Dudley of Tallahassee, Florida, and Madeleine Weaver of Hartsville; her brothers, Howard Gainey (Lynn) and Chuck Gainey, both of Hartsville, and Alfred Kelley of Santee. She was preceded in death by her step-sister, Celeste Kelley. A service of worship will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 2:00 at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the Narthex of the church following the service. A Private burial will be held at a later time. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kindergarten Scholarship Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 213 West Home Avenue, Hartsville, SC 29550. www.bpafuneralhome.com

I just found out and am saddened by our earthly loss of such a dear sweet sister. My deepest sympathies go out to her loved ones. May you find great comfort in knowing we will one day all be together again.
