Sybil Gainey Dudley HARTSVILLE - Sybil Gainey Dudley went peacefully to be with The Lord on Thursday, January 31st, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Dudley was the widow of Marcus K. Dudley and a lifetime resident of Hartsville. Born 21 April 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bizand Gainey and Myrtle Waddell Gainey Kelley. She was for many years a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church, and more recently of First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kem and Meredith Dudley of Hartsville, Eric and Belinda Dudley of Tallahassee, Florida, Jamie and Beth Dudley of Hartsville; her grandchildren, Katharine, Christopher, Margaret Dudley of Tallahassee, Florida, and Madeleine Weaver of Hartsville; her brothers, Howard Gainey (Lynn) and Chuck Gainey, both of Hartsville, and Alfred Kelley of Santee. She was preceded in death by her step-sister, Celeste Kelley. A service of worship will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 2:00 at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the Narthex of the church following the service. A Private burial will be held at a later time. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family.
