Chapin, South Carolina - Thomas O. Crapps (75) passed away January 14, 2021, with his loving and devoted wife of almost 45 years, Sue C. Crapps, by his side. Tom is also survived by his son Richard (Lisa) Chapman and grandchildren Giuliana, Penelope, and Thomas Edward "Tedi". Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, he is predeceased by parents Olen R. Crapps and Dorothy F. Crapps.
Tom was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church for 44 years and also a member of Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class. Tom worked at the South Carolina Forestry Commission for more than 30 years and as a carpenter at Columbia Lumber Company prior to the Forestry Commission. Over the years, Tom enjoyed many activities with his family including: woodworking, gardening, visiting and traveling with grandchildren, taking walks, scouting with his son, camping, hiking, tennis, fishing, hunting, photography, and watching the Gamecocks and Tigers play.
A graveside service celebrating Tom's life will be Sunday, January 17, 2021, 2:00 PM at Chapin United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank friends and family, Amedisys Hospice, and the dementia care staff for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapin United Methodist Church, PO Box 237, Chapin, SC, 29036.
