Mr. Tokunaga, husband of the late Frances Weston Tokunaga, died June 5, 2010. Born June 2, 1931, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Mitsuo and Myrtle Wagstaff Tokunaga. A graduate of Dreher High School, he attended Georgia Military Academy. He worked in the floral industry for over 41 years and was the owner of Riverside Flower and Gift Shop. He was a member of Jamil Shrine Temple, Dutch Fork Masonic Lodge, St. Andrews Lutheran Church and Midlands Florist Association. He was very active in the Jaycees, volunteered with the Incarnation Lutheran soup kitchen and was a longtime member of the Gamecock Club. Tommy's passing was a conclusion of a day he often had: a day shared with friends on a trip through South Carolina. His lifelong passion was family and friends, endless days of boating on Lake Murray and frequent reunions with close friends and family at the Mouse Trap.
Surviving are his sons, Thomas D. 'Tom' Tokunaga Jr. of Long Beach, Calif., William K. Tokunaga; daughters, Mitzi Tokunaga-Clack, Renee Tokunaga Mulvihill; grandchildren, Justin and Devon Mulvihill, Mariko Clack; brothers, Harry M. Tokunaga (Mary), Leon Tokunaga (Sadie), all of Columbia. He was predeceased by sisters, Freida Tokunaga Rimer, Willie Mae Tokunaga Brown; brothers, Richard, Robert and James Tokunaga.
