Mr. Nelson attended the public schools of Kershaw County. He was self-employed as a logger and retired from his logging business in 2002.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy M. Nelson, two sons, Eddie James (Jackie) Nelson of Blythewood, South Carolina and Edward (Delores) Nelson of Lugoff, South Carolina, two daughters, Juanita (Arthur) Brown of Ridgeway, South Carolina and Esther (Calvin) Legette of Irmo, South Carolina. He also leaves to his cherish memories four grandchildren, Felicia (Stacy) Brown, Courtney Nelson, Jewel Nelson and Nelson Legette; three great -grandchildren, Chancelor Brice Robertson, Haylee Brown and Austin Mumford; mother-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Tucker; two sisters, Yvonne Nelson Ford of New Haven, Connecticut and Elizabeth Nelson Reed of White Plains, New York; two brothers, Donald (Paulette) Nelson of Lugoff, South Carolina and Terry Gripper of Columbia, South Carolina; four aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends; all of whom will dearly miss him.
