Forest City, North Carolina - Zachary Daniel Byars passed away Tuesday evening August 17, 2021 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Zach was 21 years old.
Zachary lived in Forest City, North Carolina. He is survived by his mother Natalie Bock Byars formerly from Columbia, South Carolina, now from Forest City, North Carolina, and his siblings Hannah Byars and Ethan Byars. He is also survived by his father Michael Byars of Columbia, South Carolina, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Bock, grandmother Mrs. Linda Capilos, and many aunts, uncles and cousins all from Columbia.
Pastor Jimmy "Hambone" Camp of The Well officiated the Celebration of Life service. Zach's girlfriend Miss Mia Holmes and her mother Ms. Carolyn Holmes also spoke.
Zach, a graduate of Polk County High School, was a student at Isothermal Community College. One of Zach's passions was hiking the trails in the North Carolina mountains with friends and family. He had an exceptional eye for photography as was evident in his striking and creative images. Zach was known for his bold style. He loved music of all types and genres. He enjoyed movies, basketball, art, and history. Zach was a true and caring friend, and he never met a stranger. He loved his family and his
girlfriend Mia.
The family would like to express their overwhelming thanks and appreciation to the many friends and co-workers who attended the service, sent flowers, food and donated memorials to Conserving Carolina.

McFarland Funeral Home in Tryon, North Carolina handled the arrangements. The family is so grateful for their compassionate and sympathetic care.
