Bobbie Nifong Obituary
WALNUT COVE- Bobbie Sue (Kapp) Nifong, 76, died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her home after a long illness.
Bobbie was born in Winston-Salem to Fred Madison Kapp and Hazel Virginia (Baity) Kapp. She graduated from Parkland High School in 1967 after first attending Forest Park Elementary, Hill Junior High School, and James A. Gray High School. All of which provided a sound education for her varied business endeavors. Her life was immersed in conquering challenges. For decades, she worked at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and Centenary United Methodist Church. Her love was baking and decorating cakes, including multi layered wedding cakes. She excelled at restoring furniture and antiques, crafting baskets from pine needles, and sewing. She catered large meals at the High Point furniture market, as well as banquets and weddings. For several years, she owned and operated Ugly Earl's, a fine-dining restaurant in Walnut Cove, NC. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. What mattered to Bobbie was her deep relationships with friends and family, not accolades and memorials.
She is survived by the love of her life and dedicated caregiver, husband Norman L. Nifong; sons Micheal Moore and David Moore, Jr.; stepdaughters Christina Nifong, Heidi Mark, and Katie Burns; grandchildren Kaitlin Moore, Alex Moore, Kelsie Moore, and Corbin Moore; step-grandchildren Zoe Mark, Maci Mark, Skyler Mark, Charles Murphy, Fiona Murphy, Niav Murphy, Cara Burns, and Lucy Burns; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friend on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home, 1382 Highway 65 West, Walnut Cove, NC.
There will be an 11:00 am graveside service held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Friedberg Moravian Church Graveyard (2178 Friedberg Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC), with Rev. Jim Newsome officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friedberg Moravian Church.
